Lake Mountain Gourmet Hike
Saturday 16 November 2019 @ 9.30 a.m.
This very last DanDomiTravels Gourmet Hike for 2019 will see us heading off on a grand adventure to the alpine snowfields of Lake Mountain, just beyond Marysville in north-eastern Victoria. A drive through the notoriously winding and gorgeous Black Spur will lead us to our destination, where the long car hide will be rewarded with an active hike around this wild and eerie landscape at an elevation of around 1400 metres. We will first meet for coffee and to stock up on lunch items at Marysville Country Bakery, before driving up to the Lake Mountain Alpine Resort to begin our hike. The complete circuit should take about 4-4.5 hours, including rest/food stops. Those who are keen to break up the long drive home are welcome to join me at Innocent Bystander in Healesville for a late second lunch. Car pooling will be also be an option.
The hike includes …
• A guided 14.5 km hike around the top of Lake Mountain
• A pre-hike coffee at Marysville Country Bakery and a chance to pick up supplies for lunch
• Homemade treats (by me!) to snack on along the way
• A stop at Innocent Bystander, Healesville, after the hike
• Good company, fresh air and a day of adventuring.
Please bring along …
• Comfortable trainers or hiking boots
• Water bottle – 1L
• Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat or beanie
• Warm, waterproof jacket (for whatever the Spring weather brings)
• Lunch and coffee money
